Foundation’s matte-olive FV-170 demo is a composite expedition van on a 2024 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 170 AWD 3500XD. It shows what the Sprinter platform does when it’s built up for the backcountry — diesel range and AWD under a square, four-season composite body, with a serious off-road wheel, tire, suspension, armor, and bodyliner-coating package.

Why the Sprinter for long-range travel
People choose the Sprinter for turbo-diesel range and torque, high-mileage longevity, and available AWD — the reasons it’s the long-haul, full-time-travel pick among the vans. The FV-170 body adds the most floor area in the van line (about 95.5 square feet) in a square, insulated composite habitat.
Built up for the backcountry
This demo is built up for the backcountry: Reika super-single wheels on BFG HD terrain tires, an Agile-Offroad RIP suspension kit for travel and articulation, and RoamBuilt armor — a front bumper, skid plate, and side skirts — under a Raptor-coated finish. A European entry door and aluminum stairs finish the exterior.

It’s the same Foundation body you’d put on a Transit or an E-Series, here on the chassis best suited to long-range, all-season travel.
